Alignment: The Invisible Skill That Shapes Our Lives, Work, and Future
What seems obvious to me might not even register on someone else’s radar. The key to alignment here is understanding—not just listening to respond, but genuinely trying to see things from the other person’s perspective.

If there’s one thing that keeps showing up in every part of life—whether in personal relationships, at work, or even in broader society—it’s the challenge of alignment.
Yes you heard me right, and by alignment I mean this constant effort to bring different views, perspectives, and interests together in a way that allows progress.
As I am trying the last couple of months to finish Nexus by Yuval Noah Harari, the concept of alignment has been hitting me hard. Harari talks about how humanity is facing an enormous alignment problem—not just between ourselves but between humans and algorithms. And while that’s a fascinating discussion (and somehow scary), I couldn’t help but see the same challenge playing out in everyday life.
At home, at work, in decision-making, in simple conversations—we are always negotiating alignment. The ability to understand this ongoing process and master it is, in my view, one of the most critical skills we need.
